Mommy and Me

I had such a great time shooting Jennifer and Jake. Jennifer has been my big sister since I was 10ish. She became a part of my family when we met at church and my parents adopted her and her twin sister. So I had a blast capturing her and Jake, my nephew. We went to Jacobson Park where we played on the playground and fed the ducks! Jake was totally excited about feeding the ducks and we used an entire loaf of bread...and then he decided to feed them the wood chips from the playground. Which they were not as excited about, but it's the thought that counts! Here are a few of my favorites!

New Gadgets and Awesome Coaster Idea

I just wanted to share with you all about the new gadgets that I have recently purchased for this new business/hobby/obsession. First, we decided a while back that it was time to get me my own computer. Josh and I have been sharing a computer for about a year now, and with my photography picking up it was getting harder and harder to share one. So we decided on a Sony Vaio, and it’s pink! Just today I picked up my most recent purchase at Best Buy, a Canon Speedlite 270EX flash! I have wanted faster recycle time for my flash for a long time and now I have it! This is a baby flash, and I really think I will love it! I’m going to try it out this afternoon at an engagement shoot. Pictures to be posted shortly thereafter!

Also, here are a few pictures that I took with my new flash. These are coasters that I made, and how cute are they? My friend Traci over at Beneath My Heart shared this project on her blog this past week and I was so excited to try it! I think they will make awesome Christmas presents! Karima and James

Meet Karima and James, these two were so much fun to photograph! Karima is in her first year of nursing school at Midway (where I graduated nursing school too), Go Eagles!! James is getting ready to graduate nursing school in May from BCTC! They are getting married August 2010 in Florida!

They picked the arboretum as the location for their engagement session, and what a beautiful local it was. This was the first photo session I've done at the arboretum, but I'm hoping to do more there soon. James and Karima were willing to try anything I suggested and had some great ideas for what they wanted as well...a photographers dream! Here's a few of my favorites!

Congratulations to both of you on your upcoming graduation and marriage. This is such an exciting time in your life, enjoy every moment! I wish you both much love and happiness together

Sara and Rey

Meet Sara and Rey, they are a newly engaged couple. Rey is from Cuba and Sara is a Spanish interpreter for multiple hospitals in Lexington. We had a fabulous time at Waveland on this chilly Halloween evening. They were both troopers through the cold and I believe we got some great shots! Hope you enjoy!
